Overview

Flows is a new WhatsApp feature that makes it possible to create new flows and "menu option" usage experiences to provide users with quick access to additional functionalities, settings, and advanced features to enrich the possibilities of their smart contact. 

How does it work

Flows will work on an API model: developers will be able to use pre-programmed templates to connect their databases to WhatsApp.

For the user, within the conversation, a new panel opens, with flows that can contain several screens. To enrich the construction of the conversational flow, each screen contains customized components that allow text inputs, multi-selection, buttons, checkboxes, images, and more.

Plans and prices

According to Meta's guidance, the functionality can only be implemented by a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP).

A BSP is nothing more than a solution provider with experience in the WhatsApp Business platform. As official providers, BSPs are recognized as the link between the WhatsApp platform and a company that wants to use the channel as a business communication solution. Therefore, the first step to using Flows is to hire a BSP to carry out the implementation process. This construction resembles a template and must be created directly on the WhatsApp platform (WhatsApp Business API, or WABA). After that, the template must be approved by Meta before it can be sent to clients. It will reach users with the visual format of the action already implemented.
